summer camp

This year, we will be hosting 2 summer camp sessions. We highly recommend that all fall cheerleaders attend both weeks, and athletes who plan to cheer for only basketball season are welcome to attend.

The primary focus of summer camp will be to prepare our cheerleaders for football games and pep rallies. We will be reviewing and learning football cheers, sideline dances, learning new halftime routines, and working on stunting and gymnastics.

Since we will be working on stunting and halftime routines for the fall, we ask that cheerleaders commit to coming to all days of the camp and highly recommend they attend both weekly sessions. Squad assignments and captains will be chosen based on attendance and performance from both sessions combined.

Returning Cheerleaders

This is your time to shine and step up as a cheerLEADER. The success of a great cheer program relies on the knowledge and experience of seasoned athletes. We coaches, will always have ideas and provide guidance, but we want the squads to belong to the cheerleaders. So, we need your help to not only assist in teaching newcomers the basics of our program, but to flex your cheer-knowledge by bringing fresh moves and cheers to enrich the squad’s playbook.

Fall 2026 Cheer Squads

This fall, we aim to have both a Junior Varsity and a Varsity squad. The Junior Varsity team will be for middle school students in grades 6-8, while the Varsity team will be open to high school students in grades 9-12. Our goal is to encourage participation at all levels and foster the individual communities within our academy.

varsity

All Arete Prep students in grades 9-12 are welcome to join, with possible exceptions made for underclassmen on a case-by-case basis, depending on merit. Our Varsity Squad will cheer at all home high school football games, as well as select away games this fall. The game schedule will be posted once it becomes available.

Uniforms:

With the expansion of the cheer program this fall, we will be looking to purchase new uniforms for the varsity squad. We will be utilizing a new vendor than in previous years and aim to purchase the uniforms for the athletes to borrow for the season. You may purchase the new uniform to keep and use for future seasons if you like.

What if you have last year’s uniform but will now be on the High School Varsity squad?

Since the new uniforms will be provided on loan for the season, we are asking returning cheerleaders who will now be in High School to either lend their old (now JV uniform) to one of our incoming JV cheerleaders or consider donating their old uniform to Arete Prep Academy.

Accessories:

Shoes, bows, and undershorts (Lollies), and socks will need to be purchased to keep for each athlete by their parent or guardian. There are links on our shop page to purchase these items. We ask that if you go through a different vendor for your shoes and shorts, that they meet squad specifications for color.

Uniforms:

Our JV squad will be utilizing the existing Arete Prep Cheer uniforms from past seasons. We will be working with returning and retired cheerleaders to obtain additional uniforms to borrow for the season if you do not already own a uniform from a previous season. We will not be ordering additional uniforms in this style.
